Running, Shopping, Music, Oh My!

And just like that the weekend is over and it is Monday night already. I can’t complain. I had a very nice weekend, the temps were in the 50s today, and my first half marathon is only 5 days away!! Let’s not talk about the 5 inches of snow forecasted for Wednesday. Please and thank you.

My last long run before my half was on Saturday and thanks to some morning snow (yes I know I am not tough at all) I took it to the treadmill. But then I started to psych myself out that the majority of my training had been done on a treadmill thanks to the Chicago winter. I envisioned myself completely choking at the half and convinced myself that I was not ready. Luckily on Sunday the sun was out, the temperatures were in the low 30s, and streets were clear, so I headed out for a 4 mile run. Just what I needed because I realized two things:

1.) I was definitely overdressed (better to find that out now than the day of the half)

2.) I indeed did not forget how to run outside

Once we cleared that up I could move on with my day. We did our grocery shopping on Saturday since we “lost an hour” on Sunday. I get that it sounds silly, but Sunday’s are usually our prep days. We do all of our grocery shopping, meal prep, laundry, make lunches for Monday, etc. Sometimes Sunday’s seem more like a work day than the weekend. So we changed it up a little and cleared our Sunday for family time. We headed out for lunch and did a little damage at Nordstrom Rack. Mini me picked out these super cute summer sandals which will be perfect for our upcoming AZ trip. And of course I scored some Nike workout clothes, some shoes, and a new purse. What more could a girl want?!?!

To top off my already stellar day, I made my Half Marathon playlist. I will share it with you, but you have to promise not to laugh. All of these songs make me feel up beat and ready to dance. So -not sure if I will be running or dancing the 13.1 miles. At any rate here it is:
